I have been eagerly waiting for "Quilting -- Line + Color" to arrive. I had
seen the cover in advertisements. It is truly a beautiful book by Yoshiko
Jinzenji. Today I had a chance to try out one of the projects in the book
and quilt it. I used a 3" grid incorporating prints from the new "Cloud 9"
organic fabric line that just arrived.
To quilt the pillow top I layered it on "white" thin batting and machine
quilted straight lines 1/4" apart. There is no backing, just quilting through
the top and batting. For a pillow top, this cuts down on the bulk. I used the
edge of my presser foot for a guide.
Now I am all excited to make a table runner with the same technique but make
the background color a shade of gray or green....I will keep you posted.
