Orange...(Kona Cotton Orange to be exact)
Apricot, Cantaloupe, Carrot, Peach, Tangerine.... YUMMY! Not just a fabulous color...
I think that designing with Orange can be a challenge. As an accent or "poison" color Orange can make or break a good design. My mom is an amazing teacher. One of the concepts of color that she teaches her students is to have a color in your quilt that is a poison, just a little to make the other colors sing! I think that orange can be one of those colors....
I used orange in Generous to make the other colors sing...and because I like orange!!!

Have a great day!!!!

Your suggestion of using orange and my latest project were working independently together-I used an orange and red stripe on the bias for the binding. It really looks sharp, I had combined 4 small cat themed blocks into a wall hanging and the variety of the fabrics left the w-h looking blah, so a dark blue border and the stripes. Yes, Orange wins again. K

I love orange. Just in the process of making a skirt using orange & pink batiks. It's so cheering.

I love using orange as an accent colour. It really does make other fabrics pop!

I've always loved orange but for some reason haven't used it in quilts. I'm going to try to bring it into the net one. I know I would like it!

Luscious orange - used to be one of my least favorite colors. No more, though, it gives a lot of life to art. Gorgeous photos!

As I chose my own mix this week from among the Quill palettes, I found myself going to my comfort colors. Taking my cue from the large scale prints, I held my breath and threw in some orange. I can take a smart hint, huh?

Rich Orange stirs year round visions of Peach, Pumpkin and Tangerine harvests- and preserving all the golden goodness in jams and spreads for the winter months.

I have always loved orange. As a kid and now as a 60+ year old. It makes my heart sing!

Great color! Working on a project that I could really use some of those colors. Thanks

A little orange adds just the right "zing".
