The seasons are a wonderful place to find color palettes, especially fall.
So, I went downstairs to the color wall (In the Beginning Modern Solids, Shot Cottons and Moda Solids) and found my palette. Of course, it has the "usual suspects"...yellow, gold, rust, brown, green. Notice I pulled in both red and rust to give more dimension to the palette. Also, the yellow and gold combination provide the brightness and richness of fall colors.
I tell my students to always find a way to add a bit of "poison" to their palette, which in this case the the purple. It just seems to play well with the predictable fall colors.
I was thinking "fall" when I made the Colorworks runner but I added a bit of blue (in multiple shades), like a beautiful sunny fall day.
